A UW-Madison associate professor is the lead author of a new statement from the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) warning that even light drinking can increase risks of breast and other cancer. Dr. Noelle LoConte includes in the statement effective public health strategies to help limit the risks involving alcohol use including limiting alcohol outlet density, raising taxes on alcohol, preventing youth from acquiring alcohol and including alcohol in comprehensive cancer prevention strategies.
